Aug 20, 2016

Subhash Chowk, Gurgaon: First day of action by Commissioner Sandeep Khirwar  against auto drivers not following traffic rules led to lot of challans and more than 350 autos being impounded. This is unprecedented in Gurgaon history. Gurgaon Police Commissioner is a honest police officer who joined Police Force despite graduating from IIT Delhi and having a great corporate career ahead of him. He is strict about the violations of autos and feels the pain of residents of Gurgaon due to rule breaking autos.

However, he is in for a tough battle against auto union and it's tactics. Auto union has stopped plying autos from Subhash Chowk to Badshahpur - a route where it will hurt commuters the most. They want Gurgaon Traffic Police to stop challaning them. The strike over this route by the auto union will be countinued till Monday.
